Lake County Celebrates Its LCSO Employees
Lake County Celebrates Its Sheriff’s Office Employees Who Keep Our Communities Safe
Lake County celebrates the Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) team, who help ensure that citizens living throughout Lake County feel safe and secure in their own neighborhoods.

LCSO, its employees and inner departments play a crucial role in ensuring that Lake County residents feel safe. LCSO is made up of a dedicated team of sworn and civilian staff across various departments including recruitment, records, central dispatch, civil division communications and more.

Led by Sheriff Luke Bingham, LCSO runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year, providing professional, responsive, law enforcement services. Lake County Sheriff Deputies keep Lake County residents safe by enforcing laws, mitigating natural disasters, responding to emergencies and providing educational resources, such as Sheriff Bingham’s recent presentation to Kelseyville High School on the dangers of drinking and driving.
Our hard-working law enforcement officials were honored in May during National Police Week (5/11-5/17) and California Peace Officers’ Memorial Day (5/15)!

LCSO’s Correctional Deputies play a key role in ensuring that the people in custody in Lake County jails are safe from each other and from themselves, while also providing life-saving care. As a result of their often-thankless hard work, the Lake County Board of Supervisors adopted a proclamation designating the week of May 4-10, 2025, as Correctional Officers Week. The proclamation emphasized the importance of Correctional Deputies stating, “No public servant has a more difficult or less publicly visible job than the men and women who ensure the safety, containment and control of the human beings charged to their care.”

Public dispatchers, often the unsung heroes of LCSO, play a crucial role as the first point of contact for fielding and dispatching emergency calls across Lake County. LCSO public dispatchers' critical tasks include gathering information quickly, providing life-saving instructions over the phone, coordinating multi-agency responses, tracking unit locations and ensuring deputy safety and helping de-escalate situations. Impressively, Lake County Sheriff’s Dispatch answers 100% of calls in less than ten seconds! As a result of all their invaluable hard work, LCSO honored its public dispatchers during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week from April 13 to April 19, 2025.

Another crucial component to LCSO are the many volunteers who give their precious time and energy so that LCSO staff can focus on law enforcement. In fact, volunteers contributed 9,000 hours in the last three years through the Lake County Sheriff's Office Volunteer Program! LCSO volunteers are crucial in aiding operations such as evidence transport, records management, vehicle maintenance, and community events and programs. Thanks to their selfless and invaluable work, LCSO honored its volunteers during National Volunteer Week from April 20 to April 26, 2025. Thank you LCSO volunteers for making it easier for law enforcement to keep us safe!
From public dispatchers to volunteers to law enforcement and correctional deputies, all members at LCSO work tirelessly to ensure that Lake County residents feel safe and secure in our communities. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!
