Lake County’s Mobile Crisis Response Team Is Just a Phone Call Away
Lake County’s Behavioral Health Services Offers Help Throughout Our Community
September is a reminder to raise awareness about suicide prevention and available prevention resources. Year-round, Lake County is dedicated to addressing mental health challenges and providing services to help all residents.

Lake County has an unwavering commitment to behavioral health and wellness. Lake County Behavioral Health Services (LCBHS)’s purpose is “to improve the quality of life for the people of Lake County experiencing mental illness or substance use disorder by offering recovery-oriented services.” LCBHS operates and supports peer support centers that meet the needs of un- and underserved people county-wide. Prevention is key to everyone’s quality of life.

The "Lake County Mental Health Services Act Annual Update Fiscal Year 2024-2025" highlights underserved populations, such as indigenous peoples and the homeless, who often hesitate to seek help. The LCBHS Crisis Team is trained to engage personally and listen actively to meet these residents' needs.

Lake County’s suicide and drug-induced deaths are nearly triple the state average, according to the "Lake County Behavioral Health Services Strategic Prevention Plan 2019-2024." To prevent crises, LCBHS urges residents to share and use the following hotlines:
