Konocti Trails Website Relaunches
Explore Lake County’s Land and Water Adventures
Lake County’s Konocti Trails website has been redesigned and expanded, offering a user-friendly platform to discover hiking, biking, kayaking, horseback riding and wildlife viewing across over 645 square miles of public lands.

As announced last month, the Konocti Trails website has officially relaunched. The updated site, a partnership between the County and the community, provides a comprehensive guide to Lake County’s expansive trail systems.

Konocti Trails is a collaboration between the County of Lake and the local outdoor community. It encourages the interactive exploration of Lake County’s remarkable natural landscapes. The site highlights both land trails and water trails, with real-time mapping tools powered by AllTrails, Trailforks and Ride with GPS. From short nature walks to challenging mountain bike rides, Konocti Trails offers exciting features for all ability levels and interests, helping people connect with the land and enjoy outdoor recreation safely and easily.

The website now allows visitors to “choose your adventure” based on interests. Visitors can easily browse trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, kayaking, wildlife viewing and dog-friendly outings. Whether explorers want a scenic lakeshore paddle, a challenging uphill hike or a relaxing equestrian trail ride, Konocti Trails provides curated suggestions to match every outdoor goal.

The website also introduces more detailed profiles of Lake County’s public lands, helping visitors understand the different recreation opportunities available across preserves, parks and open spaces. A new outdoor shops and guides directory makes it easy to find local rentals, gear and expert-led tours. These exciting new features help support Lake County’s outdoor recreation economy while making planning outdoor adventures easier for everyone.

Located short of the Yolo County line, the Judge Davis Trail offers a scenic 10.5-mile out-and-back hike with panoramic views of the Cache Creek Wilderness. After the first mile, the trail transitions into chaparral terrain and is rated as moderate in difficulty. Mountain biking is permitted, but explorers should bring ample water, especially during warmer months. The trail leads to Cache Creek, which can be crossed to connect with the Redbud Trail; however, the creek is impassable during periods of heavy precipitation. With its rewarding vistas and varied terrain, the Judge Davis Trail is a must-visit for outdoor enthusiasts.

Additionally, water enthusiasts will appreciate the expanded section on water trails, which highlights prime kayaking and canoeing routes throughout Lake County. These carefully mapped water trails offer new ways to experience Clear Lake, Blue Lakes and Cache Creek, opening opportunities for peaceful paddles, birdwatching and exploring Lake County from a unique perspective.

Dog owners and wildlife enthusiasts have special reasons to celebrate the site’s relaunch. New listings for dog-friendly trails mean dog owners can bring canine companions along for the adventure. Wildlife viewing hotspots are also identified throughout the site, helping nature lovers connect with Lake County’s diverse ecosystems and observe local wildlife in their natural habitats.
