Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in Lake County

Lake County observes Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 to October 15, honoring Latinos’ achievements in education, business, public service and culture. The Board of Supervisors emphasizes the County’s commitment to celebrating the achievements, resilience and impact of ALL community members; Honoring ALL Voices.

From the earliest days of our nation, Latino residents have played a prominent role in shaping our heritage and continue to embody the pioneering spirit of America. In Lake County, Latinos enrich communities daily through local businesses, cultural events and volunteer efforts. From participating in the Lake County Fair and cultural festivals to supporting educational programs and public services, their contributions strengthen the County’s economy, culture and civic life. The Board of Supervisors celebrates these efforts, recognizing the vital role Latinos play in every facet of Lake County life.

6-0925.2 Latinos in the U.S. Army

Latino-owned small businesses are the fastest growing businesses in America, starting at a pace 15 times the national average over the last decade. Latinos own more than three million businesses and serve with honor in all branches of the Armed Forces. Governor Gavin Nesom and the State of California additionally proclaimed Latino Heritage Month: “We know and believe that our state is better off when all our communities can thrive. This month and every month, let us recognize and celebrate the countless contributions of Latino communities to our California story throughout the centuries and for generations to come.”

Lake County thanks Latino residents for their enduring contributions to business, culture, and community life. The county remains committed to honoring diversity, fostering inclusion and celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month as a reflection of the strength and richness of its residents.
